[CO]here's Continuation

Weaving Resilience through Uncertain Times

Hello my friends. It’s certainly a tender time to be alive, eh?

We won’t presume to know how you’re feeling about what has happened in the last week in this country, but we suspect you join with us in feeling that our relationships to one another are more important than ever. It’s so important that we listen, that we seek to understand one another, and that we look to build webs of mutual support to help each other not just survive but thrive in what seems to be an increasingly chaotic and uncertain world. As we look at where we are now, we become more affirmed than ever in the importance of what we’re doing here as a community: bringing people together, engaging in meaningful dialogue, participating in our civic and ecological systems, and fostering collaborative relationships across the board.

We want to assure all of you now that [CO]here was not simply a one-off arising that has now passed. It is an ongoing process and we are all a part of it.

The core intention of COhere was to be weaving resilience. We did that through every connection and relationship that was seeded, whether that seed is still underground waiting or already sprouting into something. We did that through becoming more aware of what gifts and resources are present in this community, and are excited to see how those resources keep flowing given the new channels that are being established. Whatever is ahead, the path will be traveled better if each of us and all of us feel ourselves woven into a resilient, relational fabric.

Now please continue reading to learn about how you can stay woven!

Communication

During our 10 day [CO]here container, we started using Telegram as a communication platform. We are committed to continuing to support this tool for us to connect; so please join and let it be a way to connect with others, support each other, share stories and photos of what’s happening around community, and invite people to join cool events. Speaking of which….

Calendars & Navigation Tools

Having a calendar that’s easy to access that helps reveal meaningful events happening around community is a great and simple way to continue cohering. Post your events in the Telegram and we will get them added to the community calendar. You can subscribe to the calendar here, and we promise the website will be updated soon to point more accurately to what [CO]here is now.

We also compiled this array of ‘Community Navigation Tools’ which has some of our other favorite ways to stay looped into local happenings.

Chronicle

This newsletter, formally known as The Weekly Weave, shall henceforth be known as the COhere Chronicle! (Aaron is an alliteration addict)

I (Aaron) won’t be doing as much long-form writing in the Chronicle as I was doing in the Weave. If you’re interested in longer writings by me about culture and the world, you can check out my substack, and particularly my most recent essay: Weaving Wu-Wei.

The Chronicle will really be focused on informing our community about what’s happening, highlighting interesting events and sharing stories and photos. And you will be helping us populate it by joining in the Telegram or sending us an email to let us know what’s up!

Consistency

Amplifying wider community events is one valuable aspect to cohering community, and we also know the importance of having consistent touchstones for us to come together in spaces with aligned values and familiar faces. Over the next few months, we will begin spinning up a number of regular events for us to continue to build relationships, dialogue, collaborate, learn, and share food. These will be events such as Boulder Commons dialogue, local lightning talks and more. Stay tuned.

Thank you so much for being a part of this community with us.
However you’ve found your way to us, at whichever, we’re really glad you’re here and we’re excited to see what we all do together.

With a tender and enthusiastic heart,

Aaron, Eileen, Benya & the [CO]here crew
