Weaving in 2024! Sharing Systems

Systems Show-And-Tell at the Mycocosm, tomorrow January 4th @ 530pm!

Happy New Year to all of you out there in this Woven Web! I don’t know about you but we’re feeling pretty stoked about what’s to come in this new year, and feeling especially grateful to be woven with each of you in that.

As mentioned in our last newsletter we’re adding some structure this year.
We’re operating around 4 core pillars, which are:

1. Systems

2. Inquiry

3. Regeneration

4. Improvisation (Previously named play, more on this change later).

We have a great team of leaders with a director for each of these pillars, and we are also working on building out larger committees to support the vision of Woven Web, to weave together disparate tribes and steward emergent communities.

This month, as we introduce our first events for each of these pillars, I’ll also be introducing each of the directors leading the pillars. We’ll start with systems.

Starting with Systems

Systems are everywhere. Over the last half a century or so, modern science has come to understand life as a system within a system, composed of seemingly countless different systems. As humans with the capacity of abstract thought, we’re able to create some rather innovative systems as evidenced by the ever-growing progress of modern technology and human society. Our systems pillar in Woven Web aims to explore things from a systems perspective.

Our systems pillar will be led by Ethan Nelson. Ethan is driven by a deep passion for developing systems and delving into the essence of a meaningful life. He thrives on exploring profound philosophical ideas and crafting harmony in life's diverse aspects. His journey is about understanding how to navigate the world's complexities in a way that increases his capacity to serve. Ethan is also an entrepreneur, an author, a podcast host, and an all around good human. You can follow along with some of Ethan’s wider work by subscribing to his Substack.

Our first event of the new year is coming up, and it’s in the Systems Pillar. We’re hosting a Systems Show-And-Tell this Thursday (Jan 4th) at 530pm at the Mycocosm, our community house in North Boulder. We’re excited to come together and share the systems that we are integrating into our own lives to help us live well and navigate the world effectively. We hope to see you there!

Coming Up

In next weeks weave, I’ll share some insights from the systems show-and-tell to weave in anyone who wasn’t able to make it and I’ll also be sharing more about our Inquiry pillar, our director for the Inquiry pillar Andrew, and our first Inquiry event, coming up the evening of Wednesday January 10th at MycoCafe. And you can save the date as well for our first Regeneration event on the evening of January 16th.
