Weaving Coherence
Cohere 2025, a new calendar app, and the future of the weave

Hey everyone, I come bearing good news! COhere is coming again this fall and we have a new community calendar app!
COhere Boulder 2025!
Ever since CosmoLocal/GFEL, we’ve been having deeper dialogues with many of our collaborators, to figure out what this ongoing collaboration looks like. What we’ve discovered is that the best way for this emerging coalition to continue cohering is to have direct projects we’re working together on. And so we’re beginning to envision together what COhere 2025 can look like. This time, we have 6 months to prepare rather than just one month, and we’re excited to bring forward a vision that can continue to weave a resilient culture here in Boulder and beyond. And we’re very excited to weave all of you into that vision and see how you want to add your unique gifts to what is unfolding. More will be shared on this soon, and you can trust that this vision is one that will unfold gradually over the coming 6 months, over the course of many tiny experiments and convergences.
COhere Community Calendar App
I’m excited to share that we’ve finished building a first version of a new community calendar app, that aims to do a lot of what I’ve been doing with this newsletter in a more distributed way. It’s a simple app that lets a number of folks curate a calendar, adding events is as simple as pasting a link and the system will scrape it and add it onto the calendar. We’ll be figuring out what effective curation looks like but if you want to be a beta-tester and to be able to add events to the calendar, send me an email and I’ll get you set up. This is just a little experiment and it’s yet to be seen whether this app evolves into something more substantial or gets folded into something else; but it feels important to iterate on this idea of a more distributed calendar that can better represent a wider swath of what’s happening in Boulder.
Woven Web & The Weave
We’ve decided for now to rename this newsletter back to the Weave. While Woven Web is spearheading the cohere initiative, we want this to be a collaboratively stewarded project that has a life of it’s own beyond Woven Web. And within that, we also want a space to share more directly about what Woven Web is iterating on and what we’re present with in the community. This newsletter will be a weave shared from our unique perspective in the web, touching on Cohere but also on many other intersections we are tracking. For now, it will primarily still be me writing but it may evolve to include more writing from my main Woven Web collaborators, Eileen and Jon. We'll be in the inquiry around what cadence and structure will best support the weaving.
More to come soon, but thank you for your patience and your participation.
